FROM WHERE WE STAND
Have a date with me by pausing for 10–15 minutes to read about places I visit and people I meet and maybe it might give you the break you need from your busy life to just sit back and breathe a while.

Today’s camera market is vast and extensive. They range from point and shoot to phone and of course entry level and professional. Everyone these days can take photos and virtually all have a camera in their pocket thanks to phone technology. Yet did you realise they all have one thing in common? They cannot tell you where to stand and when to click the button. These two extremely important steps to producing a photograph is still left for us humans to decide. Therefore, the artistic concept of when you look at a photographers work you are also looking into the photographer’s To View More >>

Here in New Zealand we are in Level 4 which means we are to stay at home and only go out for exercise in our immediate neighbourhood. All Cafes, takeaways, bars and other businesses which our government has deemed to be non-essential are closed. Essential businesses or front line as they are referred to as well have restructured their businesses to enable them to keep supplying those they need to. The majority of us Kiwis are home waiting out the time for this Delta variant to peak and then hopefully be able to return to work and what else comes our way. This project for To View More >>

A lot of things are happening in my personal life right now, each one impacting the next. Never would I have thought of it happening like it has. As a result I have turned and channelled my thoughts and processes into my art. Crossing back and forth between drawing with a fine art pen and then exploring the world of abstract art in Painting, Graffiti, listening to podcasts of short stories, and right back to photography looking and creating natural abstracts. Going for a wander, with camera in hand, during our current National Lockdown in my local community, To View More >>

It is so true that as we grow up our viewpoints on life change. These changes maybe because of external factors like being influenced by peers, family, new experiences. We can also change by internal factors with feelings and emotions that make us look at the same event, moment in time differently. It could be a teenager looking back on younger childhood moments and recalling them but not really understanding them so the memory is more about emotions than the facts. It could be an adult remembering their favourite place or food they tasted for the first time and how it left To View More >>

For the last eighteen months due to the rental market we opted for the alternative lifestyle of living. Together my teenage daughter and I decided to have space of our own in a caravan rather than share space in a house. We affectionately nicknamed the seventeen-foot 1970s Anglo Caravan “The Tin Can”. It was our base and we filled it with many special memories that will last a lifetime just between us. Here though I’m going to focus on how personally this alternative living style brought me closer to nature and improved my photography. To begin with the campground To View More >>

I was asked to help out a brother in need when it came to Cameron's 21st Birthday Celebrations. You see one brother lived in Masterton and the other in Wellington City. The one in Masterton decided to take it upon himself to suprise his older brother with a 21st birthday get-together in the city centre. My task was to assist by filling in time taking photos on location around Wellington while everyone was gathering at the venue. Mission accepted. I travelled down from Tauranga and thinking it wouldn't be safe to have helium balloons bouncing around in the back of the car, To View More >>

It was a beautiful fine day and one not to be spent inside. So off i drove to see what natural wonders I could discover down Papamoa Beach way. Not having really had the chance to wander along the beach I decided to park up at the Harrisons Cut carpark and stroll with just myself, tripod and camera. Harrisons Cut itself is a freedom camping location for self-contained motorhomes overlooking Papamoa Beach. However since its only a small parking area and no more than two vans at a time can park overnight, you are limited to a maximum of two nights per calendar month. The first thing To View More >>
